A year at our school
Remembrance Day
Students from our SRC proudly represented the school at the Remembrance Day Ceremony held at the Honour Stone. It was a special time to remember and show respect for all the soldiers who lost their lives and those who suffered in service. #lestweforget
Murray Paddle
Not Long to go now!!
We're paddling 415km for a cause!
The Batemans Bay Cultural Currents Crew is gearing up for the Massive Murray Paddle this November — a thrilling 5-day, 415km journey down the mighty Murray River! Our team brings together Batemans Bay High School students and teachers alongside Batemans Bay Police, united with one goal: to raise funds for our school.
We invite you to support us with donations:
• Per kilometre
• Per day
• Or a one-off contribution!
All funds raised will go directly to Batemans Bay High School to enhance and develop our 'Deadly Shed'.
Join us in making waves for a brighter future!
Year 11 Snow Trip
In August, our Year 11 students hit the slopes for the annual snow trip and had an amazing time! We had a fantastic experience filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of memories. Special shout out to Bridie from ALI for being our awesome guide and to our Perisher ski and boarding instructors for their skill and patience.
First Aid
Through funding received from the Education Pathways Program, a First Aid course was conducted at the Batemans Bay High School Restorative Education Centre.
10 students were assisted with the theory section by the expert nursing knowledge of REC friend, James, from Karralika. Today, Kate from the Royal Life Saving Society of NSW provided the practical component with hands on activities including bandaging wounds, immobilisation techniques for fractures, the use of a defibrillation machine and CPR. Congratulations to all the students who participated with vigour and enthusiasm and are now qualified First Aiders!
Sea Otter Mountain Bike Championships
Our students attended the first ever school's mountain biking event the Sea Otter Mountain Bike Championships.
The weather was perfect for riding, which made the day feel like a fun celebration of mountain biking. The event was run by Rocky Trail Entertainment and had four timed bike runs on the Botanic Gardens part of our new Mogo trail network. This setup made the races less stressful and more enjoyable for everyone.
We had schools join us from far away places like Victoria, the Blue Mountains, Nowra, and Canberra, all coming to ride together on these new trails. It was wonderful to see so many parents and grandparents come along to cheer on the students, making the day special for everyone.
I want to congratulate all of our students, who gave every run their focus and best shot, narrowly missing event placings with strong results.
Cake Comp Week!
Year 10 students spent a day working with Amber from Amber's Cafe to create these masterpieces! Thank you to Amber for giving us so much of your time. Support unit students also participated in the Cake comp and have created some amazing cakes.
Well done to everyone!
